Boulder Voice
& Sight Program
Legally have your dog off leash with a Voice and Sight permit in Boulder County
To obtain a Voice and Sight permit in Boulder county, you must complete a 4-hour online course and certify that your dog meets the following criteria, quoted from BoulderColorado.gov:
Be able to prevent the dog from engaging in the following behaviors,
using voice and sight commands, without regard to circumstances or distractions:
- Charging, chasing, or otherwise displaying aggression toward any person or behaving toward any person in a manner that a reasonable person would find harassing or disturbing;
- Charging, chasing, or otherwise displaying aggression toward any dog;
- Chasing, harassing, or disturbing wildlife or livestock; or
- Failing to come to and stay with the guardian or keeper immediately upon command by such person.
Eligible dogs must also have proof of a current Rabies vaccination and be registered in Boulder County.
Traction’s Voice and Sight training program follows our Off Leash Obedience agenda and includes assistance in obtaining a Voice and Sight permit from Boulder County.
The Homeschool or Study Abroad program is required. Study Abroad is the most effective for off-leash training.
