Traction Rally

Rally Obedience & Dog Sports Club in Austin

Traction Rally is an Austin club for the AKC sport of rally obedience, with three levels of participation, from casual fun to weekly training to a dedicated competitive team. Give your dog an extracurricular activity while building obedience skills and meeting other dog owners.

Did you know your dog could have a sport?
Imagine joining a team, attending practices, competing at events, earning titles, and working your way through exciting new challenges together. Just like human sports, except your teammate is your dog!

What is rally obedience?

Think advanced obedience meets obstacle course! You and your dog navigate a course of signs directing you through exercises, from precise heeling and fancy footwork to jumps, spins, position changes, and more.
Rally builds focus, confidence, responsiveness, and teamwork, giving you and your dog a fun reason to keep improving your real-life obedience skills.

No pre-existing training required. Beginners can start with simple courses, then work toward increasingly challenging levels and titles.

You may be surprised by just how far you and your dog can go!

Why Traction Rally?

Professional trainer leadership. Traction Rally is led by a dedicated, full-time private dog trainer from Traction Dog Training Club. The club is professionally staffed and managed, not run by volunteers or entry level dog trainers.

Traction has spent years taking on challenging behavior cases, advanced obedience, and competitive sport dog training. Our Full Grip Society PSA club combines advanced obedience with protection scenarios, and our trainers are titled in various dog sports, from PSA to barn hunt, weight pull, trick training, AKC Fetch, fast CAT, AKC obedience, Rally obedience, dock diving, and more! That experience shapes how we teach the finer points of training, coach each handler, and build a true team.

A competitive team with support beyond practice. Rattlers members receive individualized training plans, on-demand rally support from a Traction trainer, and a dedicated manager who keeps the team organized, supported, and progressing toward trials.
Training, conditioning, and team building. Monthly Rattlers extracurriculars support rally through activities such as swimming, hiking, and other strengthening or team-building activities. Members also have an active team chat, social events, and training and boarding discounts.

Who can join?

Any dog can join the Casuals or Prospects clubs. All breeds, sizes, and skill levels are welcome.

The Traction Rattlers Rally Club welcomes all skill levels, but requires a tryout. Selection is based on the team’s potential, not the pre-existing training level. The handler’s commitment to the team and the dog’s drive are what matter most!
