where will my dog sleep?

Dogs sleep in cozy crates at night, so they must be crate trained to qualify for boarding. If your dog isn’t crate trained, you can combine their stay with training and boarding. When your dog views their crate as a positive and comfortable place, it becomes a safe space for your dog to stay when they aren’t being supervised.

how much training does my dog need before boarding?

Dogs should be up to speed on their basic obedience training before boarding in a trainer’s home. Alternatively, you can add dedicated training sessions or enroll in a board and train (Study Abroad) program. Your dog integrates into the trainer’s normal daily life, so the trainer will need to dedicate extra time if your dog doesn’t understand basic commands. We have your dog will heel on walks, sit politely at the front door, and use other basic day-to-day skills.

Dogs currently in training are welcome to board with us. We require an in person evaluation if you have not trained with us before.

will my dog socialize with other dogs?

Yes, but perhaps not in the way you’re imagining. Your dog will be in proximity to other dogs, but they may not play with them.

Most dogs show signs of over-socialization and need to develop more neutrality towards other dogs. Too much play time is just as detrimental to a dog’s behavior as a lack of socialization.
