Meet Roo
If you are looking for a social, happy, and PLAYFUL Belgian Malinois, Roo is now available for sale! She is a goofy, bouncy dog that will always lift your spirits. “Not an aggressive bone in her body” has never applied more thoroughly.
Roo is excellent in a crate and in the car, is potty trained, is very friendly with all people and dogs, and is well trained on and off leash. She has high food drive and low/medium toy drive; she will chase, bite, and tug a toy, but not with the intensity needed for protection training or other intensive sport. Her confidence and stability have been through the roof since day 1, a true display of strong genetics. She is comfortable and playful in any new environment. She hasn’t batted an eye at elevators, gunfire, vacuums and blowers, bridges, or other environmentals.
Roo’s Story
Roo was purchased from a Texas Malinois breeder by an 18 year old who got a job elsewhere and left her with his parents, who kept her in their backyard. He says the breeder gave him health testing records, a pedigree, and required him to sign an agreement to return her to the breeder if he didn’t keep her. These are all signs of an excellent breeder, and Roo’s health and temperament would also point to her coming from an excellent breeder. Unfortunately, the original owner lost her papers when he moved and could not recall the kennel name. We have attempted to find the breeder, but without luck.
Eventually, another family member took her in as a foster, but struggled with her gigantic personality in a downtown apartment with a Chihuahua that wasn’t a fan of her. The family member was in a local pet store asking for advice and resources, which is where he found Traction trainer Mara! Roo lived with Mara and received several months of training. She is now trained up and ready for her first committed home.
Roo’s Ideal Home
Roo needs an active home and a strong handler. She is mischievous and will make a game out of finding loop holes in her obedience commands with a soft or inexperienced handler. However, in experienced hands, she has flashy obedience and energy for days!
She would be great for fun dog sports like rally obedience or agility, or just in a home full of adventure!
Roo loves other dogs. She has not been tested with cats.

English Commands, On/Off Leash
- Sit / implied stay / in-motion and at distance
- Down / implied stay / in-motion and at distance
- Come (recall to front)
- Fuss (enter heel position on left)
- Heel (enter heel position on right and walk at your right side)
- Climb (get on top of any object you point at and don’t get off until released)
- Uh-uh (stop what she is doing or don’t run any farther away)
- Crate training – enters a crate willingly and stays quiet and happy inside for up to 8 hours during day or night
- Potty training
Trainer Mara will give the new owner ample instruction on how to use her obedience commands. Roo has been trained on an ecollar and has a happy, enthusiastic, and respectful response to it.

Roo is available at an adoption and training fee of $1800. She completed a $8970 training program with Head Trainer Mara Soo, and ample instruction on using her training is included.
