Board and train for San Marcos dogs
Study Abroad is our intensive board-and-train program for San Marcos owners. Your dog lives in an Austin-area professional trainer’s home, working toward individualized written goals. Most programs last three weeks, with a listed price of $3,990 and payment options available.
Your trainer builds the skills. You learn to use them. Training can focus on leash reactivity, recall, off-leash obedience, guest manners or behavior concerns. A free phone consultation with Mara and free in-person evaluation establish the plan before booking.
Plan your owner visits before the stay. Austin programs usually include visits twice a week, at your home, the trainer’s home and/or relevant public locations. From San Marcos, discuss travel availability before enrolling, particularly if you will be out of town. The stay is in a trainer’s Austin-area home, not at a San Marcos facility.

Traction’s experience includes challenging behavior cases, advanced obedience, and sport dog training. We tailor training and handler coaching to the individual dog.
