Meet Sky
Sky is a 3-year-old neutered Belgian Malinois for adoption, with extensive professional training and a strong working drive. Originally rescued at 11 months old from neglectful conditions, Sky has come a long way through dedicated care and training. He trained, highly motivated, and thrives when given structure and a job to do.
Sky has a bite history and requires an experienced handler who can provide strict management and consistency. He is not a candidate for homes with children, male dogs, or high-traffic environments, though he can get along with female dogs.
Despite his challenges, Sky has a goofy, silly personality and shows deep affection once he builds trust. Over the past 10 months, he has been in professional training with Bri and Ryan of Quantum Canine, who have been working diligently to refine his skills and manage his behaviors.
Sky needs placement in a structured working home with a handler experienced in high-drive working breeds.
Training Completed
English Commands, On/Off Leash
- Sit – Implied stay / in-motion and at distance
- Down – Implied stay / in-motion and at distance
- Heel – Walk at your left side in heel position
- Around – Go around you for toy throw or send-out
- Place – Go to and stay on designated object until released
- Get it – Retrieve toy or object from ground
- Name – Recall to front position
- Crate – Enter crate willingly and remain calm until released
- In – Move into position between handler’s legs
- No – Stop current behavior / verbal correction
- Out / Drop it – Release object or toy from mouth
- Go Potty – Command to urinate or defecate
- Yes – Terminal marker / release to reward
- Good – Duration marker / maintain current behavior
- Break – Release cue / free from command
Handler Milena will give the new owner ample instruction on how to use Sky’s obedience commands.
