Ashley is a Behaviorist, which is not the same as a “Behavior Specialist” or Certified Dog Trainer. With a Master’s Degree in Animal Behavior from UT Austin, she excels in identifying and addressing the root causes of behavior concerns. If you have a complex case of anxiety, aggression, or mysterious behavior that has gone unresolved by other trainers, Ashley will be thrilled to see you.

CERTIFICATIONS
Ashley first earned her certification as a K9 Behaviorist at Triple Crown Academy in Austin, TX. Wanting more, she went on to earn her Masters Degree in Animal Behavior with a focus on Psychology and Neuroscience. Since earning her certification and degree, Ashley has been professionally training dogs for over 10 years. She has trained tens of thousands of family pet dogs, as well as hundreds of service dogs and even celebrities’ dogs.

- Confidence Building for Fearful Dogs —> As a Behaviorist, Ashley uses a combination of obedience training and animal psychology / neuroscience to address hard wired fear and anxiety.
- Service Dog Training —> Ashley has trained hundreds of service dogs, flying across America to deliver them to families in need when training was complete.
- Effects of Medications on Behavior —> Beyond her degree, Ashley Blackburn has learned from many personal experiences with dogs on medications from her 10+ years of experience. She is passionate about discussing the effects of medication on behavior. Oftentimes, medication has been used as a band aid for behavior that is actually resolvable through training.
- Behavior During Veterinary Visits —> As a former Vet Tech, Ashley is very helpful in preparing your dog for more successful visits to the vet. At our boarding facility, Traction K9 Kennels, Ashley assists an on-site veterinarian for difficult dogs.
- Behavior Modification Programs —> Naturally, behavior modification programs are Ashley’s bread and butter. While strong obedience training is always an important part of aggression, reactivity, fear and anxiety training programs, Ashley’s background allows her to dive deeper into the dog’s psychology. She is sure to find and address the root cause of emotional and behavior concerns in dogs.
